"I Have So Much Respect For Him, I Don't Even Think He Will Mind", Alexander McQueen, R.I.P.

It is always sad when someone dies long before their full potential can ever totally be achieved. It is even sadder when someone feels the need to end their life them self.

Alexander McQueen was a true British hero, who pushed the boundaries of fashion, and was not afraid to be who he wanted to be: shocking the woorld as he went and gathering a following of dedicated fans, including celebreties such as Lady Gaga and Lily Allen. He also gained many honours for his daring catwalk shoes and collections which challenged the traditional rules of the industry. These honours included winning 'British Designer of the Year' four times, and recieveing a C.B.E.

It is true to say that McQueen was the front runner of Modern British designers, and the gulf left beind due to his death will surely imapct Britsih fashion in a tragic way. However, with everyone from the likes of Peaches Geldof and Dita Von Teese to Anna Wintour herself exrpessing their grief over his passing, it is safe to say that he will not be forgotten anytime soon.
